Event as part of the Art:walk Festival
The K20 is showing the first comprehensive exhibition on Anne Truitt. Over 100 works provide an insight into the work of a pioneer of minimal art and open up new perspectives on colour, form and space.
With this exhibition, the K20 is presenting the first comprehensive exhibition of the American artist and writer Anne Truitt (1921-2004) in Europe. Over 100 works from more than four decades make it possible to experience the work of one of the most influential voices of minimalism. Anne Truitt's works are in close dialogue with an art movement that became known primarily through artists such as Donald Judd and Robert Morris. Her sculptures are characterised by clear forms, reduced design and an intensive exploration of colour and space. Their works develop a quiet presence that relies less on strict systematics than on emotional resonance. The exhibition invites visitors to discover minimal art beyond pure formal rigour. Truitt's works open up subtle, personal approaches and reveal how colour, scale and surface can convey feelings, memories and inner states. The tour of the K20 thus becomes a concentrated experience between perception and reflection. (Source: Art:walk Festival)
