German musician Erik Leuthäuser is a restless force on the contemporary music scene. The charismatic singer integrates the character of language into his unmistakable sound between modern jazz and experimental pop and creates a rare unity of music and lyrics with breathtaking intensity. Almost single-handedly, the singer has created his very own jazz idiom with his German-language singing. "With his queer metropolitan music, Leuthäuser is truly a completely new type of jazz musician, one with rough edges and character," wrote the Berliner Zeitung. Leuthäuser was nominated for the German Jazz Award 2025 and the German Record Critics' Award, among others. His current album "Sucht", released in 2024 on the Berlin label "Fun in the Church", contains collaborations with Dexter Francis Mason and Wanja Slavin. At his concert on the Seebühne, Leuthäuser will be playing in a duo with pianist Julius Windisch.
Molass are rethinking the neo-soul genre: the quartet from Cologne combines funk and jazz with electronic influences to create a vibrant sound. Inspired by artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Moses Sumney and The Alan Parsons Project, Marissa Möller (vocals), Jan Lammert (keys), Julian Schwiebert (bass) and Lambert Windges (drums) create a "groovy fairytale" that balances between hypnotic warmth and sharp contrasts. Molass were runners-up in Germany's biggest jazz prize for young talent, the "Future Sounds" at the 2021 Leverkusen Jazz Days, and also took second place in the Montreux Jazz Festival Band Contest in 2025. The band's international fanbase is growing steadily: their Insta and TikTok reels reached over five million views, and the band successfully toured the UK for the first time in 2024.
