Let's do the Time Warp: Live shows by the Tolstoys evoke the spirit of the 1960s and the energy of Woodstock.
The roots of the Berlin-based psychedelic rock band lie in Slavic and Celtic folklore; its members come from Slovakia and Germany. Tolstoy's concerts are a hypnotic, physical and heart-warming experience that hardly anyone in the audience can resist. The five-piece band centred around lead singer Ela Tolstova has toured extensively throughout the UK, Germany and Eastern Europe and has already played twice at the Glastonbury Festival and the Pohoda Festival. Since winning the "Debut of the Year" prize at the Slovakian Radio Head Awards 2018 with "Botanika", Tolstoys have released three studio albums: "Mirror Me" (2022), "No Limit To Love" (2024) and "The Buzz" (2025). On the most recent recording in particular, the musicians succeeded in capturing their raw live energy on disc. In 2025, the Tolstoys toured Europe with Senegalese musician, artist and filmmaker Alibeta, merging West African rhythms with their own psychedelic soundscapes in powerful concert experiences.
