As part of Düsseldorf China Week 2026, the Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Association and BTDC e.V. will be screening three selected Chinese films at the Düsseldorf Film Museum on 13 and 14 September. Admission to the screenings is free.
A total of three selected Chinese films will be screened over the two days of the event. The film programme showcases different facets of Chinese filmmaking and offers Düsseldorf audiences a wide range of insights into Chinese society and culture, as well as contemporary life in China. A variety of genres and cinematic perspectives provide a diverse picture of Chinese film culture.
To kick things off, an opening event will take place on 13 September 2026, featuring a reception, welcoming speeches and an introduction to the film programme. The opening event and reception are for invited guests only. The public film screenings on 13 and 14 September are open to all interested visitors.
The aim of the series of events is to use film as a medium for cultural exchange, to promote dialogue and mutual understanding between Germany and China, and at the same time to introduce a wide audience in Düsseldorf to the diversity of Chinese film culture.
