Event as part of the Art:walk Festival
In the jazz workshop, children discover jazz in a creative way. Inspired by the exhibition Jazz: Düsseldorf/Palermo, children create their own little stop-motion films on the subject of concerts in the creative workshop.
What does a concert sound like and how can music be translated into images? The Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf invites families to a creative workshop suitable for children as part of the Art:walk Festival in the Jazz Workshop Mini - Concert - Action! The starting point is the colourful advertising posters and motifs of the current exhibition Jazz: Düsseldorf/Palermo, which inspire further thinking in a playful way. They create their own concert scenes - not on stage, but image by image. Using tablets, the stop-motion film technique, modelling clay, paper, pens and cut-out photos, the children develop imaginative backdrops and figures. Step by step, they learn how to turn individual images into a small film. As in jazz itself, the focus is on improvisation, experimentation and passion. Your own ideas are allowed to grow, change and take surprising paths. No previous knowledge is required, all materials are provided. (Source: Art:walk Festival)
