On 5 September, healthy and unwell people will come together for the 10th time to celebrate another cheerful rowing festival in the Medienhafen.
This is where people come together for whom social engagement and supporting fellow citizens who are ill are a natural part of their way of life. The light-heartedness with which the day is celebrated, combined with the seriousness with which the subject of cancer is addressed, is so typical of the mindset of the people in our beautiful city of Düsseldorf.
On Rowing Day, the teams will take centre stage. Around 100 teams, comprising some 400 participants, will compete for victory or a place on the podium in various categories. Further support comes from the sponsors, who will be showcasing their organisations along the regatta course. Participants and sponsors are united by their intention to use the entry fees and sponsorship contributions to support the counselling centres run by the Cancer Society of North Rhine-Westphalia.
