Event as part of the Art:walk Festival
Construction site meets creativity at the Hetjens Museum: the construction site shop sells souvenirs that can be customised at the DIY station. The offer is complemented by a stage, selfie area and open hands-on formats centred around the motto "Under Construction".
The construction site shop in front of the museum takes centre stage, offering souvenirs with corresponding motifs - such as bags, T-shirts or small everyday objects. These can then be customised at a do-it-yourself station in the museum. The combination of buying, designing and trying out creates direct access to one's own work. The products are not only taken away, but also modified and personalised. This creates an offer that makes artistic practice tangible in a low-threshold way. The programme is complemented by other formats in the building: a stage is set up in the ballroom where anyone who wants to can take the microphone themselves. Music and spontaneous contributions lend the evening an open dynamic. At the same time, a selfie area with a humorous construction site backdrop invites visitors to capture their visit in pictures. This weekend, the Hetjens Museum deliberately presents itself in a state of flux - as a place where things are in the making. Between museum, workshop and meeting space, an atmosphere is created that invites visitors to join in and expands the festival with a playful, hands-on approach to art and design.
