25hours
The new Düsseldorf district Le Quartier Central inspired the creative minds behind the 25hours hotel group, the Swedish agency Stylt Trampoli, to come up with a very special design concept: in Das Tour - the name of the new 17-storey hotel building - German engineering skills meet French artistic flair. Meaning implemented: Straightforward design in clear colors prevails in the German rooms, while the French chambres exude playful charm. A proverbial highlight: the view from the bar on the top floor, where guests and locals enjoy the sunset with a Chablis or French Highball. One floor below, oysters or bouillabaisse are served to lovers of French cuisine, while relaxation is the order of the day on the 14th floor. This is where the wellness area is located, also with a view over the entire city. The ground floor is comparatively lively: a French café, a kiosk, a flower stand and a bicycle store provide plenty of traffic.
me and all hotel
At the me and all hotel on Immermannstrasse, the design speaks the language of its location - the Japanese quarter. Here, design and comfort are not mutually exclusive, but intertwine. The Japanese theme runs through all 177 rooms, whose interiors reflect Far Eastern clarity in bright colors. Rain showers with a view of the Düsseldorf skyline and box-spring beds provide the kind of comfort you would want away from home. The bar on the 11th floor, with a view over the rooftops of the city center, also bears witness to the hotel's excellent furnishing style. Light-colored bamboo is used as wall cladding and contrasts beautifully with the dark solid wood cubes that serve as seating. Cushions and paper lanterns also exude an Asian flair here. At home in Japan - a dream that can be fulfilled here. Brand new: you can now also check into the me and all hotel on the right bank of the Rhine. There is another branch on Hansaallee.
Max Brown Midtown
A lush green jungle beckons inside - the Max Brown Hotel, which is also strategically located in the middle of the Japanese quarter, is an inviting oasis in the urban jungle. And obviously very different from a traditional hotel: the lobby here is called "Social Space", guests are greeted at the wood-paneled bar, and a pool table invites you to play together like in your favorite pub. All of this is also a great temptation - but the rooms are so beautiful that you'll hardly want to leave the box-spring bed. The retro-chic ambience was created by Dutch designer Saar Zafrir and features cool designer furniture and a Crosley record player in addition to the ultra-comfortable beds. The records you'll find here were selected in cooperation with the Düsseldorf label Unique Records. So: a little party in the room? Shooting the baubles in the lobby? Or out to Little Tokyo? Damn, you'll have to extend a few days.
Ruby Luna Hotel
The latest addition to the design hotels opened in spring 2021 and has moved into its spectacular quarters in a 60-metre-high tower designed by architect Paul Schneider-Esleben. Schneider-Esleben, who shaped the Düsseldorf cityscape with the Mannesmann high-rise on the banks of the Rhine and the egg-shaped Rochuskirche in Pempelfort, realized his vision of a futuristic outer skin, a curtain wall made of aluminium panels, for which no frame construction was necessary. Post-war modernism on the outside, luxury yacht on the inside: here you can see elegant cherry wood paneling and lots of bright white. Bathrooms are cleverly integrated into the bedrooms, making the rooms of the Ruby Luna Hotel true spatial wonders. Speaking of wonders: the lobby is thematically dedicated to the era of the economic miracle. Retro-futurism and the Space Age send their regards, with a rocket floating on the ceiling. Incidentally, the Ruby Luna is the third hotel in the Ruby Group. The Ruby Leni on Jahnstraße, which plays with the theme of theater, and the Ruby Coco on Königsallee, which is dedicated to fashion, landed in Düsseldorf earlier.
Hotel Friends
This gem of the design hotel scene is located in a former Kaiser's supermarket in one of the city's most urban locations, Worringer Platz. The famous hip Ackerstraße branches off to the right, but here, in the lower part near the train station, there are still a few insider tips. Small galleries, some located in back courtyards, artists' and fashion studios are lined up between cultural clubs and Indian supermarkets. The location is therefore perfect for curious city explorers, and inside the hotel there is a whole new world to discover. The lobby and the lavish bar area alone cover 700 square meters, taking guests back to their school days: Reception is the "secretariat", old school bags wait at the reception counter, snacks can be bought at the "Büdchen", and smoking is allowed in the "Pausenhof". Things are more grown-up on the upper floors: In the 40 completely different hotel rooms, everyone can find their own personal temporary home. For wanderlust dreamers, there are trips to faraway countries - the rooms have names such as "Spirit of Africa", "Manhattan Jungle" or "Journey to the Hamptons". Music fans meet Lady Gaga, crime heroes have sleepless nights with Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson or Miss Marple. Secret agents have a rendezvous with James Bond and fashion enthusiasts enjoy the company of Karl Lagerfeld or Coco Chanel. A single stay in Düsseldorf is therefore not nearly enough to get to know all the facets of Hotel Friends. But that's the way it is with friends. You see each other as regularly as possible.
Henri Hotel Düsseldorf Downtown
Staying at the Henri is a question of attitude. Those looking for a standardized hotel may want to look elsewhere. However, fans of a cool boutique hotel atmosphere and lovers of 1960s and 1970s retro design will be in heaven here. The former office space has been divided into 79 studios, furnished in retro style down to the last detail: "Mad Men" sends its regards. And to make sure the Don Draper feeling is right all round, drinks are available 24/7 in the open-access fridge. By the way, the same applies here: location, location, location. You can be in the city center just as quickly as in hip Flingern. And the cult restaurant Olio is just around the corner.
