Film city Düsseldorf? For electronic music and art, Düsseldorf is known as the birthplace of many groundbreaking impulses and ideas. The band Kraftwerk and the art academy with Joseph Beuys or Andreas Gursky - around the globe, Düsseldorf is thus a household name.

But as a film city? Here the Rhine metropolis is often underestimated.

Several Oscar winners began their careers in Düsseldorf. And there are several fixed points in the city's film history that bear witness to the great creativity. Since this year, journalist Dagmar Dahmen has been inviting visitors to take part in a "film tour" through Düsseldorf, where she introduces the locations and stories. Those who start the tour with Dahmen at the Hotel Clayton in "Little Tokyo" experience a journey on foot to the old town that still surprises even Düsseldorf connoisseurs and ends at the Film Museum (which also exists in Düsseldorf). Now, at the latest, there is no longer any doubt that Düsseldorf is also a film city! Dagmar Dahmen reveals some surprising stories and locations in a conversation with host Mike Litt.
