Film city Düsseldorf? For electronic music and art, Düsseldorf is known as the birthplace of many pioneering impulses and ideas. The band Kraftwerk and the art academy with Joseph Beuys or Andreas Gursky - Düsseldorf is a household name around the globe.

But as a film city? The Rhine metropolis is often underestimated in this respect.

Several Oscar winners began their careers in Düsseldorf. And there are numerous film-historical landmarks in the city that bear witness to its great creativity. Since this year, journalist Dagmar Dahmen has been inviting people on a "film tour" through Düsseldorf, where she presents the places and stories. Those who start the tour with Dahmen at the Hotel Clayton in "Little Tokyo" experience a journey on foot to the old town, which surprises even Düsseldorf connoisseurs and ends at the Film Museum (which also exists in Düsseldorf). By now there is no doubt that Düsseldorf is also a film city! Dagmar Dahmen reveals some surprising stories and locations in conversation with host Mike Litt.
