6 green corners for spring fever in Düsseldorf
We have picked out six green spots in Düsseldorf for you. The harbingers of spring are already beckoning, the sun is making an appearance again and it's getting warmer. So let's get out into the park, the Rhine and nature. Best of all, all six spots can be reached in around 15 minutes from the old town.

Central, urban & full of surprises
The Hofgarten begins at the end of the Kö. It is the most centrally located green space in Düsseldorf and invites you to relax. Covering an area of almost 28 hectares, it stretches from the Jägerhofpalast to Heinrich-Heine-Allee and borders the Ehrenhof, where the Kunstpalast and the NRW-Forum are located. Speaking of which, the Pong, the NRW Forum's café, opens its terrace when it's warm and regularly hosts DJs. Incidentally, Pong's counterpart is called Ping and is the café of the Theatermuseum, which is very idyllically located at the other end of the Hofgarten.

Kick it on the Rhine
The Golzheim Rheinpark is located directly on the Rhine between the Altstadt and the Arena Düsseldorf, where generations of Düsseldorfers have trained their young footballers and where bar teams hold tournaments. A great place for anyone who enjoys playing soccer or wants to cheer on amateur footballers. The park is around 23 hectares in size and runs along the banks of the Rhine between Cecilienallee and Robert-Lehr-Ufer. There is also space for runners, dog owners and badminton enthusiasts.

Just take a deep breath
Directly adjacent to the Aquazoo is the Nordpark. It is characterized by its symmetry and clarity; there is hardly any wild growth. This is particularly true of the Japanese Garden, which transports a purist design language into nature. Every tree and every stone has been carefully selected and arranged. Black pines are pruned into shapes and their cloud-like structures are reflected in the pond, creating a fairytale atmosphere - an oasis of tranquillity and aesthetics. The perfect retreat to find yourself.

Urban jungle
From the north to the south to Südpark, Düsseldorf's largest green space. Dense tree population, tall meadows, allotment garden association, petting zoo, dyke lake, themed gardens and barbecue areas - the 70 hectares are diverse, extensive and the Südpark is probably one of the few safe spaces if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a few hours. And it's only 15 minutes from the center of Düsseldorf. Get on the 701 at Kö-Bogen II, Schadowstraße stop, ride to Gangelsplatz, walk down Emmastraße and you will inevitably end up in Südpark. There are large meadows down to the left where you will meet musicians, yogis and sun worshippers. If you fancy a long walk, continue on to the domed greenhouse of Heinrich Heine University in the Botanical Garden or towards the farm in Südpark. If you simply want to have a beer in peace, keep right at the entrance after Emmastraße. There you will find the Kurhaus with a large beer garden. The boathouse with its terrace on a small lake is just a stone's throw away. Both pubs serve Alt vom Uerige and Hosen Hell, the beer of the Toten Hosen. Cheers!

Page change
Fancy a change of perspective? Then get on your bike and cycle from the Rhine promenade over the Oberkassler Bridge to the Rhine meadows in just ten minutes. From the Rhine meadows, you have a great view of Burgplatz and can relax and watch the hustle and bustle of the old town. You can also get active and go for a walk along the Rhine towards the Lörick swimming pool or watch the Rhine sheep graze. You can hire bikes with the Düsseldorf BikeCard, for example, and get other discounts such as free entry to selected museums. For a more convenient option, take the subway at Heinrich-Heine-Allee and after two stops you will be on the other side of the Rhine.

Pearl on the Rhine
The Rhine is the blue ribbon that characterizes Düsseldorf. You should definitely take advantage of this during your stay in Düsseldorf and discover the sandy beach. Head to the paradise beach at the Medienhafen - ideally by bike in just ten minutes. The flat sandy beach directly on the Rhine not only offers summer vibes in the urban Medienhafen, but also a beautiful view of the skyline with the TV tower towering high into the sky. It is advisable to travel by bike because you have to bring your own drinks and snacks. There are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity. (Please remember your garbage and dispose of it!)
