In this way, we would like to contribute to "The Sound of Düsseldorf" getting the distribution it deserves, even during the pandemic. Düsseldorf rapper Tice (short version of Hatice, pronounced: tietsche) came to Germany as a child of Turkish guest workers and quickly realized here what it's like to be different. 15 years of microphone experience, coupled with numerous releases in recent years, have left their mark. Tice's distinctive voice, in combination with her honestly learned MC craft, is now making the rounds far beyond the rap and hip hop scene. She delivers her emotional works in such an engaging, authentic and combative to affected manner that many of her fans, by all accounts, wrongly assume that her entire lyricism must be autobiographical in nature... In order to continue her versatility and to give her art more space, Tice is currently working on fresh material that will once again make her grating voice accessible to a wider audience.

The curator

Julian Janisch observes the Düsseldorf music landscape for Visit Düsseldorf and curates the Spotify playlist "TSOD Mixtape". The 33-year-old has worked in Düsseldorf for years as a concert promoter and booker for the FFT, zakk and New Fall Festival as well as for the cultural office. Since 2018/19, he has been working for the Berlin concert agency KKT, which is part of the Toten Hosen record label. He looks after bands like the Donots and Kavka and works on tour planning for the Toten Hosen and Die Ärzte.
