100 years Joseph Beuys

On the trail of Joseph Beuys by bike

Beuys & Bedburg-Hau

The next section of the Beuys & Bike Route takes us on to Bedburg-Hau, or rather to Schloss Moyland. The neo-Gothic moated castle houses the world's largest collection of Beuys works. But also the extensive gardens with sculpture park, herb garden and large hydrangea collection invite you to linger.

Length: 14.3 km
Vertical meters: 121 m
Duration: 49 minutes

The special Beuys moment on the road:

Schloss Moyland is not only beautiful to look at from the outside. The brothers Hans and Joseph van der Grinten were themselves friends with Beuys and laid the foundation for what is now the world's largest Beuys collection. So much Beuys in a historically charged place.

The perfect Instagram motif:

The fairy-tale and picturesque castle and its grounds.

The Beuys quote fits this stage:

"We need Beuys!" (to be found on a photograph in the collection)

Fat burning:

820 kcal yields approx. 110 grams of butter

Detailed information on the various highlight locations on the route can be found at Tourismus NRW .
