Urban Art Düsseldorf - Interview with littlelill.y

"Painting is my motivation."

By way of introduction, would you like to tell us a few words about yourself? What is your name? Where are you from and what do you do?
My name is Anne Lilly, I was born in Düsseldorf, completed my training as a painter and varnisher and then became a master painter. I've been a self-employed master painter for seven years now.

To what extent does your work for "out there" differ from your work for galleries and other indoor spaces?
Outside, I try to paint the pictures in such a way that they match the directly adjacent surroundings. On canvas, I create pictures that simply flow from my hand. Regardless of the surroundings and other influences that resonate outside.

What motivates you to create art in urban spaces and exhibit your works in public spaces?
Location and surroundings are not important to me - painting alone is the motivation.

Many artists work with a pseudonym instead of their birth name. What does your chosen name mean to you?
My pseudonym as an artist is actually my second name.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
From the animal world.

Are there any other places in Düsseldorf that you should definitely visit?
Under the Jülicher Brücke, in the area where you park, I painted a very nice picture with friends at the "40 Grad Festival". And the façade on Oberbilker Allee near the Pitcher, which was designed by a good friend and me.

Thank you for taking the time!
