Six terraces for the sunset in Düsseldorf
We reveal our six insider tips
The days are getting shorter, but it's still fun to spend the evening outside. Especially when you can enjoy a great sunset with a cool drink. We'll tell you where you can get the best view:
The Paris Club
"The Paris Club" bar is located above the rooftops of Düsseldorf, on the 17th floor of the 25hours Hotel Das Tour to be precise. Ceilings up to seven meters high, fully glazed fronts and a corner terrace provide a spectacular view. The gastronomic offer is largely French, whether beer, wine, gin or the freshly mixed cocktails.
Beachclub Rheinpark
Originally created out of (corona) necessity, the beach club below the Rheinpark is the perfect place for a sundowner. Feet in the sand, a cool drink in your hand and a view of the water between the palm trees - it immediately gives you that vacation feeling. The beach club is currently open until August 31, 2020.
KIT
On balmy summer evenings on the terrace of the KIT Café , be sure to keep an eye on the Rheinkniebrücke bridge. Because behind its high pylons, where the Rhine caresses the southern part of Oberkassel, the red fireball seems to sink into the water. If you want to be even more comfortable, you can make yourself comfortable on one of the sun loungers on the city beach just a few meters away.
Pebble's
The futuristic Pebbleʼs Bar at the Hyatt Regency Hotel sits enthroned on a headland in the Medienhafen like an oversized shiny silver pebble. Thanks to its exposed location, it offers a fantastic panorama of the MedienHafen, the striking buildings of the old town and the Rhine. In such an ambience, it's a pleasure to watch the sun go down.
Tonhallen Terrace
The Tonhalle was once a planetarium, but you can also enjoy a wonderful evening view of the closest star to us, the sun, from its terrace. Beanbags, folding chairs and deckchairs are available to enjoy the evening atmosphere in peace. Drinks and snacks can be purchased on site.
Fortuna Büdchen
It's THE classic, in fact there's not much more to say about it. For many years, the Fortunabüdchen on Joseph-Beuys-Ufer has been an informal meeting place for an after-work beer. And thanks to the neighboring Rhine wall, it has one of the best box seats for watching the sunset.
