Six ice cold recommendations

We present you our favorite ice cream parlors

Ice cream is always good. But when the sun shines and the temperatures rise, the cool refreshment tastes especially good. We tell you where you can find particularly good ice cream in Düsseldorf.

Garden by KYTO

There is a new ice cream café at the main train station: "Garden by KYTO" sells various types of ice cream in the building complex at Immermannstraße 65 that are produced without industrial sugar, preservatives or colorants. Coffee, fruit and salad bowls are also on offer. The food used for the dishes all comes from regional suppliers.

Nordmann's ice factory

Did you know? The pistachio ice cream from Nordmanns-Eisfabrik is not green, but brown. This is because 100% pure pistachio is used here without any colorant. And the vanilla ice cream is not yellow because no colorant has been added here either. Artificial ingredients don't stand a chance at Nordmanns. The 16 ice cream varieties, which change daily, are made only from the best raw materials. You can try them in the branches in Flingern, Derendorf, Oberkassel and Little Tokyo.

Unbehaun

This brings back childhood memories. Unbehaun has been around for what feels like forever. Although the selection in the ice cream parlor on Aachener Straße was and is not particularly large (there are chocolate, vanilla, nut, strawberry and lemon), the ice cream is generously spatulaed into cups. And is sooo delicious!

Pia ice cream parlor

Pia on Kasernenstraße is an eternal classic among Düsseldorf's ice cream parlors. Don't be put off by the long queue in front of the store. The guys and gals behind the counter are quick and the ice cream is simply delicious. There is a large selection here, even unusual varieties. Almost all fruits are represented, as well as milk ice cream reminiscent of well-known chocolate bars.

Pure Ice Carlsplatz

Tim Tegtmeier has been running the "Pure Pastry" pâtisserie at the Carlsplatz weekly market in Düsseldorf since 2016. Since his passion is not only pâtisserie, but also the art of dessert and here especially ice cream, he has also been offering freshly prepared ice cream products at his stand since last year.

Gelateria La Romana

It all started in 1947 in Rimini, when Gelateria La Romana opened in the historic old town. Traditional ice cream varieties, made from selected ingredients and according to original recipes, gave the family business such great success that it expanded within Italy and also to Europe. Since 2018, you can enjoy the real Italian gelato also in Düsseldorf on the left bank of the Rhine. Be sure to try the hazelnut cream with melted chocolate and hazelnuts!
