Six hotel bars in a great location

Bar culture at its best

Hotel bars are places surrounded by many myths. Film classics such as "Lost in Translation" conjure up their magic: the paths of Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson) and Bob (Bill Murray), both sleepless in Tokyo, cross at night in the New York bar on the 52nd floor of the Park Hyatt Hotel. The rest is movie history. We don't want to take you to such lofty heights in the following, but at least we go up to the 19th floor. Five with a view, one with depth: these six hotel bars not only serve cocktails that are as creative as they are delicious - if you look over the edge of the glass, you can also enjoy the best views.

Observatory Bar at the Ruby Luna Hotel

So close to the stars! At Ruby Luna in Kasernenstraße, this is true in two respects. On the one hand, the new hotel, which has been located in the iconic former Commerzbank tower designed by architect Paul Schneider-Esleben since 2021, celebrates the 1960s and the fascination with early space travel. On the other hand, there is here, on the 13th floor of one of the tallest buildings in Düsseldorf city center, this truly wonderful roof terrace. The name Observatory Bar is therefore to be taken literally. You will be mentally prepared for your trip to the heavens in the lobby of the Lean Luxury Hotel, which stands for uncomplicated comfort and a highly individual interior design. Among other things, rockets and space capsules await you here. In the rooftop bar, there are relaxed beats, delicious drinks - and a phenomenal panoramic view. Perfect for spacewomen and -men.

The Paris Club in the 25hours Hotel

The name of this establishment also points the way: The Paris Club is located on the top two floors of the 25hours Hotel Das Tour. Fortunately, the club is not an elitist club. On the contrary: the restaurant on the 16th floor and the bar on the 17th floor are open to everyone. Thanks to the "French Connection", which the entire hotel maintains in an unagitated manner from the furnishings to the service, everything is true to style. So start by enjoying the cuisine française in the restaurant, reinterpreted in the style of the young, wild French. And for the grand finale, head one floor higher. Here you will not only find a long bar, comfortable armchairs and a relaxed industrial flair. The icing on the cake are the fully glazed window fronts, which offer a great view over Düsseldorf. Or is it the exclusively French spirits that are served here? In any case, a sundowner on the bar terrace is an absolute must!

me and all Lounge

From Little Paris to Little Tokyo. If the lounge on the 11th floor of the me and all hotel on Immermannstraße didn't exist, it would have to be opened. Even though Japanese and German traditions merge in many places in Düsseldorf, they rarely do so against such an impressive backdrop. The elevator takes you up. Once at the top, you can enjoy a relaxed breakfast in front of the panoramic windows and try the Japanese ramen menu for lunch or dinner, which also includes other Japanese specialties such as gyoza, fried chicken and sushi. If you want to stop by for a beer or a cocktail, you can sit comfortably in an armchair, whether you're a hotel guest, from out of town or a Düsseldorf local. Me and all - the Rooftop Lounge clearly keeps its promise. The fact that it is far more than just a hotel restaurant is also underlined by the fact that small living room concerts are regularly held here, often with local musicians. DJs are also regularly on hand for after work.

The View Skylounge & Bar at the Innside Hotel

This skylounge gets a license to brag from us. Because the location of The View in the middle of Düsseldorf's Medienhafen and with a direct view of the Rhine is simply magnificent. The hotel bar is housed on the 16th floor of the Colorium, one of Düsseldorf's landmarks with its façade of over 2,000 colorful glass panels and the red overhanging roof. From here, you can take in other architectural masterpieces of the state capital, most notably the Gehry buildings and the Rhine Tower. The ambience at The View is stylishly sophisticated. Whether for after work or after sunset - here, at a height of 60 meters, you can really wind down. For example, with one of the five signature drinks such as the "Blue Bird", which combines Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru Gin and Blueberry-Lime Cordial. International snacks such as burrata, salmon tartare or a selection of Spanish tapas are served as culinary accompaniment. If you're feeling peckish, we recommend a visit to the adjoining restaurant.

Otto's Skybar at the Lindner Congress Hotel

We switch to the left bank of the Rhine. A new hotel bar recently saw the light of day here in the Lörick district - named after the architect and entrepreneur Otto Lindner, who died in 2020 at the age of 90. And that's not all: where Otto's Skybar is now - on the 19th floor of the Lindner Congress Hotel on Lütticher Straße, a five-minute walk from the Am Seestern subway station - the man who gave the bar its name had his office for many years. The homage is impressive. Not only is the Skybar spanned by an extravagant golden ceiling that blends in perfectly with the casual, modern interior. The view of the city, the Rhine and the airport through the panoramic windows is simply sensational. The accompanying roof terrace is worth a visit in itself. The same applies to the cocktail concept, developed by Marian Krause, "Bartender of the Year" 2021.

Grand Pu Bar at hotel friends

Another new opening - but this time not at lofty heights. On the contrary: the Grand Pu Bar, once a small, albeit fine address on Bilker Witzelstraße, has paid tribute to its popularity and swapped its "living room charm" for a larger domicile. Since Whitsun, you can taste the creative cocktails with home-made ingredients, with which bartender and owner Daniel Kroschinsky has already won championships, in the 600 square meter lobby of the hotel friends on Worringer Straße. Kroschinsky has already proven that he is not only a cocktail connoisseur, but also a friend of the fine arts at his previous location.,uAnd now the works of his friend, the artist Ivan Beslic, who portrays well-known musicians, hang on the walls once again. Incidentally, the bar is named after the New York rapper Grand Puba, and the DJs from the Boombox Soundsystem provide the finest sound on site every Saturday, from old school to future beats. Live concerts and stand-up comedy shows are also regularly on the program.
