While in many places culture can only continue to flourish to a limited extent under Corona or even comes to a standstill, a place is being created at Ehrenhof with which Düsseldorf will play a decisive role in shaping the culture of the future.

Under the direction of Joanna Phillips, the new restoration center is being established there, which aims to set new standards. Joanna Phillips took over as director last year, bringing with her a wealth of experience. Born in Berlin, she has already worked in Dresden, Berlin and Zurich. For her new task, she came from New York, where she had built up the media art conservation department at the renowned Guggenheim Museum.

In this episode of "Alle Rhein!" Joanna Phillips talks about her visions, what advantages Düsseldorf has compared to the "Big Apple" New York, and why the work of a restorer sometimes has something of the job of a profiler.
