Six addresses for luxury fashion
We show you where you can store for special labels
Clearly, the Kö is the place to be for fashionistas when it comes to luxury fashion. But there are also stores and labels waiting to be discovered away from the main fashion artery. Here are the six best luxury fashion addresses.
Apropos
Talking about fashion? There's no way around Apropos in Düsseldorf. Its owners Daniel Riedo and Klaus Ritzenhöfer spell out the great fashion alphabet of luxury brands just a few steps away from Carlsplatz: A for Alexander McQueen, B for Balenciaga, C for Céline. As if these names weren't attraction enough, they are flanked by smaller, inspiring labels and lifestyle brands.
Jades
Jades is considered the fashion address with the highest density of celebrities in the city. Sometimes it's Justin Timberlake, sometimes Victoria Beckham or Georgia May Jagger who pay a visit to the store on the occasion of a product launch, press contingent and groupies included. National soccer players, film and TV celebrities and influencers are more at ease in the hallowed halls, browsing through the collections of Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh, Kenzo, Iro, Lala Berlin and Amiri. The range extends from casual to luxurious - but there's always a bit of glam involved.
Joe Merino
High quality, straightforward, sustainable. With these words, you can even get male fashionistas into the changing rooms. Once you slip into them, the natural look is convincing. Another pro argument: in addition to the Joe Merino store in Düsseldorf, the entire spectrum of the simple, beautiful knitwear collection for men is only available in Antwerp.
Tiger of Sweden
Anyone who has ever been to Stockholm knows that when it comes to fashion, no one can hold a candle to the Swedish man. The Scandinavians effortlessly manage the balancing act between trend awareness and nonchalance. Ambitious men therefore know where to head: to Tiger of Sweden on Grabenstrasse in the old town, where the Stockholmers have a flagship store. Incidentally, women also dress there.
OSKA
A statement against the glut of trends. OSKA on Hohe Strasse has nothing to do with short-lived trends. Instead, the brand celebrates high-quality natural materials and promotes colors and cuts that bring out the personality of its customers.
Red Wing Shoe Store
The red wings are cult. The robust footwear from Red Wing, Minnesota, is particularly popular with male heritage lovers. It's a good thing that the brand, which was founded in 1905 by a German emigrant and upholds the shoemaking tradition, has its own store on Hohe Strasse in Düsseldorf. After shopping for shoes, head to the neighboring traditional bistro Münstermann Kontor.
