Alexandra and Maik Hecker see no contradiction in this. In November 2018, the trained florist opened the Green Note together with her husband, and since then plant lovers have been swinging to the jazz beat of the Blue Note era while shopping in Flingern. The protagonists of their urban jungle, the cacti, succulents and tropical plants, which are shown to their best advantage in the living room atmosphere of the shop, are sourced by the couple from a nursery near the Dutch border. Before that, the Heckers had already run a flower shop for twelve years - but they are better able to reconcile the trade in houseplants with their environmental conscience. Accessories such as ceramic pots, baskets and tools are also selected with the aim of meeting sustainable standards. The products come from well-known Scandinavian brands, traditional manufacturers or small design labels that are also involved in upcycling.
