There's no holding back carnival fans in the metropolis on the banks of the Rhine when the fifth season (11 November 2025 to 18 February 2026) kicks off. At Düsseldorf’s carnival, people laugh, dance and kiss, as countless carnival events are held throughout the season. There are numerous carnival events throughout the city waiting to be discovered by you.

Rose Monday Parade
A huge parade of decorated carnival floats and foot groups parades through the entire city center. The politically themed floats by satirist Jacques Tilly are world-famous.

The occasion when the women of the city traditionally ‘storm’ the Rathaus (city hall), followed by a street carnival in the Altstadt (Old Town)
Children’s and Youth Procession

Young and old carnival revellers ("Jecken") gather to march through Düsseldorf’s city centre – a must for all families.
Carnival Sunday ‘Kö-Treiben’

Informal street carnival on Königsallee, with spectacular costumes and small ‘home-made’ floats
Rosenmontagszug (Rose Monday Parade)
