K21 Ständehaus

The former parliament building on Kaiserteich, which was the seat of the State parliament until the late 1980s, today houses the department of contemporary art. A renovation completed in 2001 gave the building a glass and steel dome. In doing so, a new attic and a spacious exhibition area with natural light were created. In the meantime, connoisseurs meet in Pardo’s restaurant on the ground floor, which also leaves a lasting impression thanks to the artist Jorge Pardo’s psychedelic wall design.
