The Christmas market will be closed on Totensonntag (Sunday, 23 November) and Christmas Day (Thursday, 25 December). In addition, special opening hours apply to the Christmas markets in Düsseldorf city centre on the following days: On Christmas Eve (Wednesday, 24 December), they are open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on the second day of Christmas (Friday, 26 December) from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
There are several Christmas markets in the city centre.
We recommend travelling there by public transport. A good destination is the Heinrich-Heine-Allee underground station, as it is centrally located in the city centre.
You can find more information about travelling there by public transport at www.rheinbahn.de. There is also a Park & Ride combination ticket with the airport, which allows you to use car park P13 at the airport. This also includes travel on the Rheinbahn to the Christmas market in Düsseldorf city centre. All information can be found here.
Another option is to park your car in the P7 car park at the MERKUR-SPIEL ARENA and take the new Park & Ride combination ticket from D.LIVE and Rheinbahn to travel into the city centre by public transport. All information can be found here.
If you are travelling by car, you can park in the underground car park on the banks of the Rhine, in the car park on Schadowstraße or at Carlsplatz, for example. Especially on busy Advent weekends, it is recommended that you check the occupancy of city centre car parks before you set off. This can be done quickly and easily with the VT Manager. The VT Manager website also displays up-to-date traffic information such as roadworks and route utilisation, so you can avoid traffic jams or switch to Park & Ride spaces.
You can reserve coach parking spaces here. If all parking spaces are fully booked, please be patient until further parking spaces become available. If you have any urgent questions, please call +49 211 17 202-854.
Before you visit us, we would like to draw your attention to an important rule: engines must be switched off while parked in all of our car parks. This not only protects the environment, but also creates a quiet and pleasant atmosphere on the premises.
The Christmas City Map shows the location of all the huts at the various Christmas markets and tells you what each one is selling. It can be downloaded from our brochure page and a free copy can be picked up from our tourist information office (Rheinstrasse 3).
