The Maxhaus, the center of the Catholic Church in Düsseldorf, is located in the middle of the liveliest part of Düsseldorf, the old town. The doors are open to anyone who wants to come in for a break on their shopping trip, on the way home after work or during a sightseeing tour across Düsseldorf.
Perhaps they were also attracted by an art exhibition, a concert in the monastery courtyard or the bistro in the light-flooded inner courtyard. The Maxhaus is a house of God, a former Franciscan monastery where people can still feel the prayer of centuries in its corridors. People come here to talk to God and the world and often discover one or two points of light for their own lives.
