“My baby carriage was in a greenhouse,” says Michael Frings, the owner of Tannendiele. His parents had a horticultural business in the Eifel region, so he was born with green fingers. The fact that the florist has created a place in Tannendiele where flower lovers can share in his passion can be seen as a stroke of luck. Originally, the self-employed Frings was only looking for a workshop, but was carried away by the idea of his own business when he discovered the beautiful premises in a house dating back to 1893 at Tannenstraße 15. Here he now works in his self-created jungle of exotic and native plants, with just a few narrow paths running through it. In between are miniature glass greenhouses, vases and vessels from India, Vietnam and the Philippines. Frings does not limit his work to Düsseldorf. He is a regular guest on the ZDF program “Volle Kanne”, where he presents his decorative ideas every three to four weeks.
