Discover the world of Franz Marc!
Franz Marc's expressionist works fascinate with their vibrant colours and deeply moving themes. His depictions of animals in particular cast a spell over viewers.
They symbolise harmony and an intimate connection with nature - values that are often lost in today's world. Although Franz Marc (1880-1916) led a rather reclusive life, he was anything but a loner. As a committed artist and critic, he built up an extensive network between Paris, Berlin and Munich. Together with Wassily Kandinsky, he founded the editorial group "Der Blaue Reiter" and was a passionate advocate of modern art. The exhibition at the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in Düsseldorf offers you a comprehensive insight into the work of this extraordinary artist. (Source: Kunstsammlung NRW)
