Japan-Tag starts with the official opening at 12.00 noon. You can visit the first stands from the Reuterkaserne to the Rhine Tower from 11.00 am. It ends with the fireworks at 11.30 pm.
The best way to get to Japan-Tag is by public transport. From Düsseldorf Central Station, you can either walk to the venue, take a stroll through Little Tokyo or use public transport. The underground lines U75, U76, U77, U78 and U79 will take you to Heinrich-Heine-Allee, from where it is only a few minutes' walk to Burgplatz. Alternatively, you can also take tram lines 706, 708 or 709 to the Landtag/Kniebrücke stop. This is the quickest way to get to the southern event site.

Yes, there will be fireworks this year. The fireworks start at 11.00 pm. You can enjoy it anywhere along the Rhine embankment promenade.
You can watch the fireworks particularly well from the Rhine embankment promenade, from the Medienhafen to the Tonhalle. We recommend using the entire space and spreading out along the entire bank of the Rhine.

No, you don't need a ticket. Admission to Japan-Tag is free. Of course, there will also be a wide range of culinary delights on offer, and there will be stalls selling items to enhance your cosplay costumes.

Japan Day will still take place even if it rains. However, we will keep a close eye on the weather and keep you up to date via the Japan-Tag social media channels.
The women's counselling centre will be represented at Japan-Tag with the project ‘Luisa ist hier’. If necessary, please contact security staff, first aid personnel, exhibitors and catering stands with the code word ‘Ist Luisa hier?’ (Is Luisa here?) to receive protection and support. Of course, the police will also be on site as a point of contact.

The consumption of cannabis is prohibited on the event grounds in accordance with § 5 (1) KCanG and § 5 (2) KCanG.
You are welcome to come in costume. If you like, you can take part in the cosplay fashion show competition at Johannes-Rau-Platz. However, please note that your costume should not include any items that could be mistaken for real weapons. During Japan-Tag, weapons and imitation weapons (such as imitation samurai swords) are prohibited on the event grounds. Anyone who violates this rule will be asked to leave the premises and the police may confiscate such items. Special precautions will be taken for the martial arts groups participating in the programme and these are included in the security concept. From 6 p.m., the official weapon ban zone applies to the entire event site. In addition, certain decorative items, costumes and imitation weapons are subject to the Weapons Act and may not be carried at events in general.
