Getting there
The State Capital of Düsseldorf is located in the heart of Europe and has an excellent infrastructure. Parking space around Japan-Tag (Japan Day) is limited. Please use public transport.
The Rheinbahn offers a dense network of trams, buses and underground trains – ideal for getting to the event area quickly and without having to search for a parking space.
The best stop for travelling to Japan-Tag (Japan Day) is Heinrich-Heine-Allee (underground lines U70, U74, U75, U76, U77, U78, U79 and bus lines). From here, you can reach the banks of the Rhine and the central area of the event in a few minutes on foot.
Other stops in the immediate vicinity are:
- Graf-Adolf-Platz (for the southern area near the state parliament and Johannes-Rau-Platz)
- Tonhalle/Ehrenhof (for the northern section and nearby Japan-related exhibitions)
For night owls:
You can also get back safely after the big fireworks display: the Rheinbahn's NachtExpress runs from the main station between 0.36 a.m. and 3.36 a.m. in all directions – on Fridays, Saturdays and before public holidays. More information is available here.
