Mark de Lange, the creative mind behind the Dutch eyewear brand Ace & Tate, has a principle: his glasses cost just 98 euros across the board, including lenses. But it's not just the price, Ace & Tate's straightforward design is also convincing, and the brand is enjoying growing popularity worldwide. Initially, the chic frames were only sold online, but the Dutch brand now also has its own stores. The Düsseldorf branch on Carlsplatz is dedicated to the artist Gerhard Richter - in keeping with the Rhine metropolis' image as a city of art. A neon light installation pays homage to Richter's work.
