Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum
The Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum is a cultural and scientific institution of the state capital Düsseldorf and represents an inseparable combination of zoo, aquarium and natural history museum.
In a unique synergy of live animals, illustrative exhibits and interactive media, it enables visitors to experience and understand the origin, evolution and diversity of animals and plants. From large rays to small shrimps, from nimble penguins to leisurely crocodiles, 500 different animal species are brought together here. The theme of evolution is the common thread that runs through this unique institute comprising a zoo/aquarium and natural history museum: The tour tells the story of living creatures - from their origin and spread in the sea, the conquest of fresh water to the colonisation of all habitats on land. The Aquazoo has already been honoured several times by the UN for its in-house amphibian conservation and breeding station, where various endangered animals are cared for and in some cases successfully reproduced.
