In the middle of the Urdenbacher Kämpe, one of the last natural floodplain landscapes on the Rhine, lies the former Roman fort Haus Bürgel, which has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Lower Germanic Limes since July 2021. The atmosphere of this special place is characterized by its approximately 2,000-year-old history, its embedding in the unique nature and an equestrian farm with cold-blood breeding. In the Roman Museum, original excavation finds are used to vividly tell of the life of soldiers in the Roman province.
