Beschreibung
Once the headquarters of Mannesmannröhren-Werke and later the seat of North Rhine-Westphalia's first prime minister, the building designed by Peter Behrens combines tradition and modernity. Today, it houses the House of History of North Rhine-Westphalia, a fascinating museum that brings the development of the state to life under the guiding principle of “Democracy, Diversity, Change”. In addition to changing special exhibitions such as “110 Years of the Behrensbau”, visitors can look forward to an exciting permanent exhibition that delves deep into the history of Germany's most populous federal state. The Behrensbau itself, a monument to administrative architecture, will in future offer an extraordinary experience on 7,000 square meters of usable space.
