Right from childhood she wanted to become a modiste. The discovery of an old hat box which belonged to her great aunt with some precious headwear was the key experience. Laurence Leleux learned her trade in Brussels, a city whose Art Deco heritage had a stylistically great influence on her as a milliner. Since 2000 she has designed a new hat collection twice a year in her studio in the district of Flingern. The headwear, which ranges from simple to glamorous, is made at the same place with elaborate craftsmanship.
