Japan in Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf is the number one city in Germany for Japanese people. It all started with merchants and their families, which led to a gradual development of typical infrastructure: retail and bookshops, typical restaurants, Japanese supermarkets, banks, doctors, insurance companies, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Consulate General. There is also a Japanese school and Japanese kindergartens. Düsseldorf can therefore rightly be described as ‘Japan's capital’ on the Rhine.
