Since 1984, one of the oldest collections on inland waterway transport on the Rhine has been on display here. The museum, known as the SchifffahrtMuseum, showcases exhibits on the history of shipbuilding, trade and travel on the river, and the ecology of the Rhine. The history is brought to life through photographs, films and archive material. The top floor offers a particularly hands-on and vivid experience: from the café there, visitors can enjoy superb views of the river and the Rhine vessels plying its waters.
