While strolling through a 21 hectare landscape conservation area, the visitor discovers ten walk-in sculptures, some of which are used as exhibition buildings. The museum was initiated by Karl-Heinrich Müller in order to provide an appropriate framework for his extensive collection of modern and contemporary works as well as artefacts from Asia and Africa. And the way to the Museum Insel Hombroich, which lies around 20 kilometres from the gates of Düsseldorf, is always well worthwhile: The rocket station with the Langen Foundation and the Skulpturenhalle Neuss (Sculpture hall) is only a stone’s throw away.
