In the town centre, pretty Baroque houses from the 17th and 18th centuries are just waiting to be admired. Also worth seeing: the St. Suitbertus Basilika in the Stiftsplatz, a Romanesque pillar basilica, where the remains of Saint Suitbertus rest in a gilded shrine. Kaiserswerth is not only culturally but also gastronomically well established in premier class: The star restaurant “Im Schiffchen” at the Kaiserswerther market is considered one of the best in the city. By the way, a boat brings visitors to the district and takes them back home again. In the summer months, the Weiße Flotte der Rheinschifffahrt (white fleet of Rhine navigation) operates regularly between Kaiserswerth and the city centre of Düsseldorf.
