Description
Düsseldorf and climate change in 120 minutes - a city walk around the climate. The climate walk combines the major sights of Düsseldorf with information about the climate on the Rhine and how it affects the city.
The tour starts at the equestrian statue of Jan Willem, passes the grandiose Rhine panorama towards Schwanenmarkt and the world-famous shopping mile Kö. Not only are historical facts told in an exciting way, but a bridge is also built again and again to today's challenges of climate change - from urban planning measures of the past and the future to modern climate-friendly buildings and the role of green spaces and a contemporary tree population. The tour continues on foot to Kö-Bogen 2, the building with the largest green facade in Europe, via the Hofgarten with its cooling water areas and the opera house to Grabbeplatz, the end point of the tour.
In about two hours, the climate walk not only brings participants closer to the city of Düsseldorf, but also shows how the city and the climate influence each other, what everyone can do, even in small ways, and what challenges we will face in the coming decades.
Duration: Ca. 120 Minutes
