A decade ago, with his ‘Ruhe.punkt’ series, Markus Hinz created an aesthetic experimental space on the organ at St Antonius that consistently breaks down traditional genre boundaries.
Neither purely concert-based nor bound by liturgical conventions, the series is dedicated to exploring improvisations and compositions in direct dialogue with the sacred space. The acoustic works range from process-oriented, gradually unfolding soundscapes to complex compositions enhanced by additional instruments. As part of the IDO Festival, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in fascinating soundscapes that span tradition, jazz, live electronic performance and adaptations from pop music.
