A China enthusiast introduces fascinating, as yet little-known sights and cities such as Zhangjiajie in China – experience the unspoilt, authentic side of China and gain a comprehensive insight into the country.
A passionate lover of China invites you to an exciting talk that goes far beyond the well-known cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Xi’an. The focus is on fascinating places in China that are still relatively unknown internationally – foremost among them the stunning Zhangjiajie with its striking sandstone cliffs, which served as the inspiration for the film world of *Avatar*. In addition, the talk will showcase remote mountainous regions, traditional ancient towns, rural settlements, as well as unique natural landscapes and local cultural customs that lie hidden off the beaten track.
The aim of this event is to introduce the audience to the authentic, unspoilt side of China: far removed from commercial mass tourism, showcasing genuine local ways of life, regional cuisine, customs and the everyday culture of the locals. Many visitors are so far only familiar with the highly frequented attractions of eastern China; this talk offers a new perspective on the country’s diverse geography, long history and colourful society. By the end, you will have the unique opportunity to gain a more comprehensive, holistic picture of China and to get to know the country in all its complexity. (Source: FITT China Reisen)
