China Week 2026 – Liu’s Hotpot: Chongqing Hotpot and Chinese Culture Week

Discover Chongqing’s hotpot and food culture through calligraphy, paper cutting, a spice quiz and creative hands-on activities. With the China Culture Pass, guests can also experience Shanxi culture at Noodle Jin.
The ‘Chongqing Hotpot and Chinese Culture Week’ at Liu’s Hotpot in Düsseldorf invites visitors to discover the culture and culinary traditions of the Chinese metropolis of Chongqing. The focus is on traditional Chongqing hotpot culture, Chinese dining customs, and creative and interactive hands-on activities.

An introduction to the Chinese paper-cutting art form ‘Jianzhi’.

China and Chongqing quiz with a magnet as a prize.

Learn about Chinese calligraphy and have a go yourself.

Chopstick challenge with small prizes.
17 September 2026, 6.00 pm–9.00 pm
Design lucky envelopes with gold stamps and discover the Chinese hongbao tradition.
18 September 2026, 6.00 pm–9.00 pm
Discover and identify hotpot spices. The prize is a Chinese snack goodie bag.
19 September 2026, 1.00 pm–3.00 pm and 6.00 pm–9.00 pm
Get creative painting Chinese lanterns.
Together with Noodle Jin, the China Culture Pass invites you to visit both restaurants and collect limited-edition stamps during the daily cultural activities. Authentic Chongqing hotpot specialities and intercultural exchange between Germany and China round off the programme. The event is free of charge and open to all without registration.
