To say that ‘we’ll be hearing more from Élisabeth Pion’ does not do justice to this brilliant young artist – because we’re already hearing about her:
Around the world, in orchestral concerts, in chamber music, on highly acclaimed CD recordings and, most recently, with her outstanding victory at the 2025 Honens International Piano Competition. In doing so, the young Canadian seems to embody the very ideal of a modern artist: her technique is flawless, her understanding of the works profound, her horizons broad. She loves science, literature and philosophy. She practises Tai Chi – including the occasional workshop with orchestra members or members of the audience. She sheds new light on familiar repertoire, rediscovers forgotten works such as the marvellous compositions by the French composer Hélène de Montgeroult, is a co-founder of the Unisson Festival and participates in numerous interdisciplinary projects. What a delight to finally be able to experience this exciting and multifaceted pianist at Heinersdorff too!
