Playing chess, eating ice cream – and above all: giving concerts! Those were Sandro Nebieridze’s plans for the period following the 2025 Busoni Competition.
He has certainly already fulfilled his first two wishes following a fantastic final concert, which was rewarded with second prize. And we are only too happy to take responsibility for his third wish by reserving a place for him in our ‘Discovering Talents’ concert series. In his debut concert, the 26-year-old Georgian pianist will perform Prokofiev’s moving Sonata No. 7 and Chopin’s famous Sonata ‘with the Funeral March’; he will not only demonstrate his excellence as a performer but, with the *Three Esquisses*, also as a composer who, like many of his great predecessors (see above), brings his own works to the stage.
Frédéric Chopin: Sonata No. 2 in B flat minor, Op. 35; Federico Mompou: Variations on a Theme by Chopin; Sandro Nebieridze: No. 1 (for the left hand) and No. 2 from: Three Esquisses; Sergei Prokofiev:
