Düsseldorf in the run-up to Christmas – the air is filled with the scent of roasted almonds and festive spices. This year, the Christmas market will be open from 19 November to 30 December 2026.
Many fans have been coming to Düsseldorf for years to buy presents for their loved ones and visit the Christmas market. Anyone strolling through the markets will be constantly surprised by the original design of the huts and the wide variety of goods on offer. In Düsseldorf, everything is just a mulled wine away – major shopping streets, the bustling old town, internationally renowned museums and, of course, the Christmas markets are all within walking distance.
Special opening hours apply to the Christmas market on the following days: on Christmas Eve (Thursday 24 December) it is open from 11 am to 3 pm, and on Boxing Day (Saturday 26 December) from 2 pm to 9 pm. The Christmas market will be closed on 22 November (Remembrance Sunday) and Christmas Day (Friday, 25 December).
