From 30 July to 2 August, Burgplatz will once again be transformed into a wine oasis: winegrowers from various German wine-growing regions will be bringing a taste of their wine-growing regions straight to the state capital.
The popular WEINsommer is back for the 36th time, inviting visitors to enjoy a few relaxing hours with fine wine and lively conversation. It brings together 19 wine producers from the Moselle, Nahe, Palatinate, Rheinhessen and Württemberg with wine lovers. Curious visitors and those with an interest in wine can get first-hand information about wines steeped in history and sample over 200 wines, sparkling wines or non-alcoholic alternatives to discover their favourite wine.
The 2025 wine vintage in brief: With an early start to the harvest and a short harvesting window, mostly healthy grapes were harvested. Cool nights ensured a crisp acidity profile. Yields were on the low side, but the wines impress with their high quality and aromatic potential.
The WEINsommer begins on Thursday, 30 July at 4 pm. At 6 pm, the Moselle Wine Princess Annalena Niedersberg will welcome guests together with Mayor Zachel. On Friday and Saturday afternoons, seasonal themed tastings featuring rosé wines and seccos will take place. On all days, three gourmet exhibitors will offer dishes to complement the wine. Making its debut in 2026: fine street food featuring premium Wagyu beef from Germany. Subtle background music creates the perfect blend of light-heartedness and summer vibes.
