Fish market
Feast, browse, stroll and enjoy the view of the Rhine – Düsseldorf’s Fish Market is entering its 27th season and invites you to this popular open-air event on the banks of the Tonhalle on eight Sundays between April and November.
Since its first event in 2000, the Düsseldorf Fish Market has become a popular meeting place for food lovers, day-trippers and families. In the 2026 season, too, the Fish Market remains true to its recipe for success: eating, drinking, laughing – and, in between, browsing and shopping. It is precisely this special atmosphere that makes the event so unique.
What once began as an idea has long since established itself as a firm fixture in the state capital. Every year, thousands of visitors from Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia and beyond flock to the Fish Market. With around 75 exhibitors, the Fish Market offers a wide selection of culinary highlights. From fresh fish, seafood, tarte flambée and bouillabaisse to burgers, game specialities and empanadas – foodies will be in their element here. Alongside international specialities, visitors will also find an exquisite selection of wines, champagne and other drinks.
As well as the culinary highlights, there is also a wide range of high-quality products such as ceramics, porcelain, jewellery, fashion, plants and flowers. The Dutch florist is particularly popular – his plants and flowers are often sold out early in the day.
A new highlight this season is the wine steamer, themed ‘Wine meets the Rhine’. Sebastian Kreimeyer and his team invite visitors to enjoy a stylish break right on the banks of the Rhine, presenting an exquisite selection of wines.
