He’s certainly not one to shy away from a challenge! When Hoppeditz climbs out of the beer mug on the market square at 11.11 am on 11 November, he doesn’t mince his words.
He pokes fun at city life and the mayor – and his performance marks the start of the new carnival season.
Before Hoppeditz delivers his eagerly awaited speech, Düsseldorf carnival revellers from various clubs will set off at 10.20 am from the banks of the Rhine near Zollstraße on a parade through the old town to the market square. From 10.30 am until around 2.00 pm, the CC will be hosting a varied stage programme there, featuring many well-known bands and artists as well as the two Prince’s Guards.
