Jodokcello – World Tour
It was in this simple tranquillity that his passion for music was born. At the age of six, he picked up his first cello … and never put it down again.
Encouraged by his family and by mentors who immediately recognised his innate musicality, Jodok undertook formal training and was awarded his Bachelor’s degree from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Music in 2011. Determined to further develop his art, he went on to complete two Master’s programmes and was awarded his coveted concert diploma. Yet long before he graduated, he did something that very few classical musicians have ever dared to do – he built his own cello by hand. This instrument, crafted in 2006–07, still resonates beneath his fingers to this day.
For many years, Jodok toured Europe – as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician and teacher. But a turning point came when he began sharing his musical soul with the world via social media. Performing barefoot amidst breathtaking natural landscapes, he combined cinematic imagery with classical and modern cello covers, thereby striking a deeper chord – emotion beyond all boundaries.
Under the name ‘JODOKCELLO’, his art took off online. With over 13 million followers on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook, Jodok became one of Switzerland’s best-known content creators – a global musician who brought the cello to Gen Z and far beyond.
His journey led him to collaborations with big names such as Mercedes-Benz, the Swatch Group and FC Barcelona, as well as to virtual and live performances with stars such as Alan Walker, IL VOLO, Lindsey Stirling, Teddy Swims, Il Divo, Plácido Domingo Jr. and many more. The Qatari royal family personally invited him to perform in Doha, and in 2024 he was honoured with the World Influencer Award in Cannes.
But Jodok is more than just a viral sensation. He is a visionary – a modern bard who brings classical music to the people, without filters or pretensions.
Every day, his music is streamed millions of times by fans all over the world; every note carries the message by which he lives:
“Music is not just sound. It is connection. It is presence. It is truth.”
And whilst he walks barefoot – sometimes over mountains, sometimes across the world’s stages – he always carries within him the spirit of the Alps, the honesty of the earth and the soul of a cello that was never meant solely for closed concert halls. (Source: Concertbüro Zahlmann)
