DAVINA SOLEIL and ILYAS SAMY are a young art-pop duo from Düsseldorf who create music that balances melancholy with a sense of new beginnings. On Wednesday 25 November, they will be performing at Schleuse Zwei, showcasing their sound, which ranges from melodic indie to global pop and electronic dance music. Intimate piano moments are interwoven with driving soundscapes.
Their music opens up spaces for radical openness towards one’s own feelings, inspires daydreaming and sees hope as a resource for social resilience.
Karolina will be the support act. With her sound, KAROLINA captures what words often fail to express. In a society characterised by conformity and success, she creates an in-between world through her music – a place where emotions that are frequently suppressed in everyday life find space and sound.
