The European Music Collective presents its twelve-piece ensemble. Under the direction of Düsseldorf-based musician Christoph Götzen, the ensemble performs new compositions by Asja Kadic and Ethan Blackburn, as well as free improvisations at the intersection of contemporary music, avant-garde and free jazz.
The European Music Collective is an association of musicians whose lives and creative work are centred in Europe. Its aim is to create a platform and community for improvised music that brings together different national and cultural identities in a collective, cross-border spirit.
In addition to concerts, residencies and studio productions, the collective also organises educational events with the aim of bringing contemporary improvisation into the mainstream and making it accessible to a wider audience. (Source: Bilker Bunker gGmbH)
