New Year’s Eve 2026 at the Kasematten
As the year draws to a close, Düsseldorf’s Rhine promenade once again becomes a very special meeting place: on 31 December, the Kasematten are hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration right on the banks of the Rhine.
At five venues, Düsseldorf residents and visitors to the city can celebrate together, enjoy themselves and toast the New Year.
Whether it’s a lavish New Year’s Eve buffet with live entertainment, a relaxed evening with a barbecue and friends, or a lively party with electronic music – at the Kasematten, everyone can see in the New Year in the way that suits them best.
This year’s venues include Zum Schlüssel, Frankenheim Bistro, Cocktailbar 112, Café Bató and Rheinwerft. Each venue has its own concept and atmosphere – but they are all united by their special location in the heart of Düsseldorf’s Old Town and right on the banks of the Rhine.
“For us, New Year’s Eve at the Kasematten is something special every year,” says Patrick Ogiermann, operations manager at the Kasematten Düsseldorf. “Many guests have been celebrating with us for several years now and bring friends or family along. At the same time, every year there are people experiencing New Year’s Eve right on the banks of the Rhine in Düsseldorf for the first time. It’s precisely this mix that makes the evening so special for us.”
From New Year’s Eve dinner to the big party
Those wishing to start the evening with a culinary treat will find the most comprehensive New Year’s Eve package at Zum Schlüssel: a lavish buffet, all-inclusive drinks, a DJ and live entertainment, as well as a dedicated covered and heated VIP area are all part of the programme.
The Frankenheim Bistro also offers a varied New Year’s Eve programme featuring a BBQ buffet, all-inclusive drinks, a DJ and a live act. For added comfort, guests here also have access to a covered and heated area.
Cocktail Bar 112 combines a small BBQ buffet and all-inclusive drinks with a relaxed lounge atmosphere and music from ‘Glüh Dich Glücklich’. An exclusive VIP lounge can also be booked. Things are a bit more laid-back at Café Bató: a small BBQ buffet, all-inclusive drinks and a DJ to keep guests entertained throughout the New Year’s Eve night.
If you’re mainly looking to dance and party, the Rheinwerft is the place for you. An event from the ‘Glüh Dich Glücklich’ party series takes place there. Electronic music, DJs and hot mulled wine set the tone for New Year’s Eve. Drinks and snacks can be ordered individually on the night. This means the options range from a full New Year’s Eve package with food and drinks to a straightforward party ticket.
What all five events have in common is their location: right in the heart of the Old Town and directly on the Rhine promenade. The areas in the Kasematten are covered and heated, so guests can celebrate whatever the New Year’s Eve weather brings.
And when midnight strikes and 2026 finally turns into 2027, the New Year begins in a spot where Düsseldorf is at its most beautiful: right on the banks of the Rhine.
